GammaGuard Data Logging
Enable Data Logging
- Open the navigation drawer by swiping in from the left, or clicking the top left corner icon.
- Go to “Settings” for either the Camera Detector or External Detector.
- Enable the “Data Logging” setting.
- Check that the “Logging Interval” setting is set to a reasonable time (measured in seconds).
Log Data
- Start measuring with the Camera Detector, or connect to an External Detector.
- Let logged data accumulate over time, or use the “Log Data Now” button to manually log data.
Retrieve Log File (Email)
- From the navigation drawer, select “Email Data Log” for either the Camera Detector or External Detector.
- From the “Send File” selection screen, choose your email app. Alternatively, you can send the file via Bluetooth, Wi-Fi Direct, etc.
- A new email will be created for you with the file attached. Enter the email address you wish to send it to, then click the send button.
Retrieve Log File (USB Transfer)
- Connect the phone to your computer with a USB cable.
- After your computer installs drivers, the phone should establish itself as a mass storage drive, or media device.
- Open the new drive and find a folder called “GammaGuard”.
- The log files in this folder will be called “dataLog-Camera.csv” or “dataLog-ExtDetector.csv”.
Delete Log Files
- If data is logged regularly, then over time the log files will grow large, and should be deleted to clear out the old data. This doesn’t need to be done every time the log files are retrieved, but should be done periodically.
- Connect the phone to your computer with a USB cable.
- After your computer installs drivers, the phone should establish itself as a mass storage drive, or media device.
- Open the new drive and find a folder called “GammaGuard”.
- Delete the contents of this folder.
Format Data
- From the GammaWatch resources page, download the “Excel Macro - Camera Data Log” or the “Excel Macro - External Detector Data Log”.
- Create a folder under C:\ called “GammaGuard” and transfer your log file there.
- Open the macro file in Excel.
- You may see “Security Warning: Macros have been disabled.” If so, click options, select “Enable this content”, then click OK.
- Click “Import External CSV”.
- A new Excel book will be created, with the imported data on Sheet1, and formatted data with a chart on Sheet2.
